Otoacoustic Emissions - Resources

The Titan by Interacoustics is one of our most popular and frequently ordered pieces of equipment. Not only because of its portability and ease of use, but also because of the breadth of testing it can perform. Otoacoustic emission (OAE) testing is one of the most commonly ordered modules for the Titan. The modules available include:

1. Screening DPOAE – (1000- 6000Hz)
2. Screening TEOAE (1000-4000Hz)
3. Clinical DPOAE (500-10KHz) + pressurised OAE
4. Clinical TEOAE (500-5500Hz) + pressurised OAE

Given the popularity of the OAE module, we thought it might be helpful to consolidate all of our OAE resources into one handy place for you to review as needed.

A great place to start is ‘A guide to Otoacoustic Emissions’ which is a 43 page document covering the theory of OAE's, testing considerations, protocol settings and analysis/interpretation of results.

If you’re more of a visual learner, the Interacoustics YouTube channel also has a variety of videos to view at your leisure. Of particular note are the webinars by OAE specialist Dr Peter Bray. Dr Bray’s OAE series breaks down the different types of OAE's and the technologies available to help achieve a good recording.
